Camp Derby is a spacious double-storey family home set in beautiful country surroundings, with four en-suite bedrooms, a swimming pool and access to the Bitou River. Arrive to rolling lawns, open water views and the quiet of the veld.
Days here begin slowly. Breakfast on the wrap-around balcony as the light comes up over the river and vlei, an afternoon on the nine-hole course the owner built, then a swim before a braai as the sun drops. Springbok and zebra graze the grounds, and the river is yours to enjoy.
The upstairs living space is open plan and generous: a lounge with a fireplace and smart TV, a reading lounge, a ten-seater dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with a scullery. Downstairs opens to a second TV lounge, a bar and a covered patio that stacks open to the pool and garden.
Practical comforts are in place. The home runs fully off the grid on solar, so loadshedding is never a concern, with uncapped Wi-Fi, Netflix and DStv, all linen and towels provided, and weekday housekeeping included. Good security with monitored cameras and armed-response alarm. One small pet welcome; sleeps up to eight.
